Kayak at Twilight
by MJ Moore
Kayaking on the bay, I meander through marsh as day shortens and fades. Silently dip my oar into water, push back, and strike a trail of light. A goddess creating her own path of stars in indigo and silk. In the distance, bay merges with undulating ocean and horizon dissolves. Alone on the water, alone in the world. One day, I will slip into the ebb current, let internal tide converge with the world’s great waters. For now, I paddle in reach of shore. A woman in love with stillness and liquid starlight, the smell of the sea and salt-drenched song. |
